Critical magnetic fields and electron pairing in magic-angle twisted bilayer graphene

چکیده
The microscopic mechanism of superconductivity in magic-angle twisted bilayer graphene (MATBG) is currently under active debate. authors propose here that valuable constraints are implied by the band-filling dependences critical temperature and magnetic field, which together define an average Fermi velocity. They show a robust inverse correlation between velocity holds models with independent pairing interactions. absence such association experiments suggests glue MATBG strongly dependent.

The charge susceptibility of twisted bilayer graphene is investigated in the Dirac cone, respectively, randomphase approximation. For small enough twist angles θ ≲ 2° , we find genuine interband plasmons, i.e., collective excitonic modes that exist in the undoped material with an almost constant energy dispersion. In this regime, the loss function can be described as a Fano resonance, and we ar...
متن کاملQuantum Hall effect in twisted bilayer graphene.
We address the quantum Hall behavior in twisted bilayer graphene transferred from the C face of SiC. The measured Hall conductivity exhibits the same plateau values as for a commensurate Bernal bilayer. This implies that the eightfold degeneracy of the zero energy mode is topologically protected despite rotational disorder as recently predicted. In addition, an anomaly appears. The densities at...
متن کاملNMR in rotating magnetic fields: magic-angle field spinning.
Magic-angle sample spinning is one of the cornerstones in high-resolution NMR of solid and semisolid materials. The technique enhances spectral resolution by averaging away rank 2 anisotropic spin interactions, thereby producing isotropic-like spectra with resolved chemical shifts and scalar couplings. In principle, it should be possible to induce similar effects in a static sample if the direc...
متن کاملAngle-resolved Raman imaging of interlayer rotations and interactions in twisted bilayer graphene.
Few-layer graphene is a prototypical layered material, whose properties are determined by the relative orientations and interactions between layers. Exciting electrical and optical phenomena have been observed for the special case of Bernal-stacked few-layer graphene, but structure-property correlations in graphene which deviates from this structure are not well understood. Here, we combine two...
